Erosion Control
Erosion Control

Sand control systems are used to keep harmful solids out of the wellbore. Erosion can result from a variety of causes such as high pressure flow from  prolific formations or damage to the screen during deployment. Erosion also results when sections of a screen plug which causes local zones of high flow rate that lead to jetting of the sand control liner. The eroded areas allow formation solids into the wellbore. A build-up of solids over time will inhibit production and can cause catastrophic loss of the well. Downhole remediation of completions without screen or failed screens has traditionally been very expensive and often not practical. Absolute saw this challenge as an opportunity to research and create innovative erosion control solutions that keep harmful solids out of the wellbore while maximizing the inflow of oil or gas.
